REpower North Technical Seminar of Wind Farm Development in Southeast Costal Regions Take Place

14-15 Dec., the Seminar initiated and sponsored by REpower North and the Hand-over Ceremony of Lufeng Jiahu Wind Farm Project took place in Yearning Tea Farm Resourt in Mei County, Guangdong Province.

Mr. Wang Jinzhong, GM of Inner Mongolia North Equipment Group, Mr. Wolfgang Jussen, CEO of REpower North and wind farm investors, government officials and experts of wind associations participated the event and visited the wind farm.

Jiahu wind farm is located in coastal area of Guangdong Province, and wind speed at 70m is 6.4m/s. It’s also the important part of Baolihua’s onshore 100MW wind farm plan. As one of the few costal wind farms in China, Jiahu wind farm’s operation will bring good experience for wind farm development in cost efficient and reliable ways.

This project is 48MW, using advance REpower technology and locally produced MM82 STD turbines. At present, turbines are running in stable mode, availability and power curve index achieved or being above guaranteed figures.

MM series is developed and upgraded based on the 1.5MW MD technology, with variable speed generator and single blade electrical yaw system and good grid functions. As the second generation products, MM turbines have high stability and max. power output. MM82 has 5281 sq.m. rotor area, hub height between 59-100m, very suitable for northern regions and southern costal typhoon areas. It also has Cold Climate Version. Up till now, there are totally 100 sets of MM82 in good running in China.

REpower North, founded in Sept. 2006, located in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia, jointly invested by REpower Systems AG, NHIC and Honiton Energy, mainly focus on 2MW wind turbine production and service with the mature REpower technology. With workshop of 5500 sq.m., storage 8000 sq.m., the company’s designed production capacity is 400 sets. For 2009, 100 sets were produced and in 2010, 150 sets are planned.
